A beautifully presented converted chapel situated near the village of Mathry. The conversion featured on Channel 4s Restoration man. Benefitting from three bedrooms, original features and wonderful countryside views! This unique property originally dates back to approx 11th Century and was the last stop of the Pilgrimage to St Davids. This property would make an ideal family home or holiday home. The original character and charm has been retained throughout the property, whilst offering a homely accommodation. The property briefly comprises, on the ground floor; open plan living that includes a dining area, lounge and kitchen. The lounge benefits from wood burning stove and wonderful arched windows allowing lots of light in. The kitchen has matching wall and base units and includes a door that leads out to the rear garden. A spiral staircase leads to the first floor, where there are three bedrooms, two of which are double and the other has two crog loft beds, one single, and the other a double, accessed via a ladder. The tiled shower room features a double shower finished with hand crafted copper shower heads alongside a hand beaten copper sink. Externally; the chapel is approached through the public graveyard over a slate shingle path. The garden is to the side of the property and has far reaching views over the countryside. The nearby popular village Mathry is situated some 2.5 miles from the North Pembrokeshire coastline, with a variety of blue flag beaches not far away, Newgale just 7 miles, Whitesands 9 miles, and many more. 8 miles from the Cathedral City of St Davids and 5 miles from the harbour and ferry port of Fishguard, on the North Pembrokeshire coast. The picturesque harbour of Porthgain is just 4 miles away. The county town of Haverfordwest, is 14 miles to the south. Viewing is highly recommended to appreciate what this unique property has to offer!
Please contact our office to request our viewing schedule - We respectfully request that you do not view internally or externally without prior appointment or discussing with West Wales Properties.
- We are advised that a deed of covenant requires the property to have a small boundary fence surrounding the property, between the path around it and the land owned by the Church. Previously, a post and rope fence was in place. The Church have specified that something more secure would be needed, but not confirmed what type of fence they would want. At present, there is no fence in place. We are advised that the property may be sold in breach of covenant until a decision is confirmed by the Church.
- Private drainage (septic tank - emptied annually, usually in Nov, but most recently in April 2022)
- Private water supply (bore hole)
- We respectfully request that viewers park at the bottom of the access lane/drive at the entrance for Ty Llanreithan and walk up to the property as turning around at the top is quite tight without entering the grounds of the neighbouring property which we would suggest you do not do.

†Traditional auction
Exchange occurs at the end of the auction. This means that if the reserve is met or exceeded and the auction timer reaches zero, the successful bidder is legally obliged to pay the purchase price and the seller will be legally obliged to sell the property. To ensure that the successful bidder proceeds, the buyer is automatically charged a holding deposit, which is held in a secure client account, pursuant to the terms of a holding deposit agreement.
* Pricing Information
The Guide Price amount specified is an indication of each seller's minimum expectation. It is not necessarily the amount at which the property will sell. Each property will be offered subject to a Reserve (a figure below which the property will not be sold) which we expect will be set no more than 10% above the Guide Price amount.
